I don’t think anyone disagrees that life is richer and presents more opportunities to learn and grow when you’re interacting with others that have common interests. It expands your knowledge and stretches your horizon and you feel connected to something greater than yourself.
The desire to write is something that I believe many people share... it's a connection. There’s a need in us to “get the story out.”
I’m passionate in my belief that writing books (and shorter works) is an opportunity to create a compelling message or story that carries with it positive learning lessons for life. Whether its non-fiction, a memoir or fiction—each of those is a means to not just enlighten, educate or entertain—they are an opportunity to inject what you’ve learned from life and make the reading of your book a teachable moment.
Writing can become that catalyst to re-shape and re-direct—a process of discovery that uncovers a foundation from which to explore new opportunities and benefit from them. I know this from personal experience.
The trick in life is learning how to sort through all your experiences and thoughts to make sense of things for yourself. Making the connection and getting to the truth deep inside you.
Writing can help accomplish that!
