As a writer and publisher I've had the pleasure and honor of meeting and interacting with men and women that have been involved in some significant historic events.
One of these is "Skip" Schumacher. I'm sure that most people don't have a clue who he is, what he did or what he went through. For some of you, that he was an officer onboard the USS Pueblo (the ships name might jar your memory) might register with you. Here is a story, a small reminder of what we should value, lest we forget:
Remembering the USS Pueblo: An officer's story
Mr. Schumacher contributed a chapter on the USS Pueblo's Commanding Officer, CDR Pete Bucher, to a book I recently worked on called "Leadership In Action | Principles Forged in the Crucible of Military Service Can Lead Corporate America Back to the Top" by Rear Admiral Greg Slavonic. Published by Fortis Publishing, that work also includes chapters from two Medal of Honor winners and Colonel David Scott, a Gemini and Apollo astronauts (one of the few men to walk on the moon).
It was my honor to work with these men and women on a very, very good book on fundamental leadership principles--the kind that we need today.
